Applicants invited to County FY26 Recycling Grants Program information session May 7

Applicants are invited to attend a grant information session for the County of Maui Fiscal Year 2026 Recycling Grants Program at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in the Mayor’s Conference Room on the 9th floor of the Kalana O Maui County Building, 200 S. High St., Wailuku.

An estimated $600,000 to $1 million in funding will be available for projects that focus on landfill diversion and are consistent with the goals of the Recycling Section of the County Department of Environmental Management, Environmental Protection & Sustainability Division. Potential projects may include collection and/or processing of materials, recycling equipment and waste reduction initiatives.

The recycling grants process consists of two rounds of applications and evaluation. Applicants whose Round I Summary Application scores are highest will be invited to submit a Round II Full Grant Application.

Round I Summary Applications will be available online Monday, May 5, at www.mauicounty.gov/recycling.

The May 7 information session also can be attended remotely by emailing a request for a Teams link to recycle.maui@mauicounty.gov.

The Round I Summary Application deadline is 4 p.m. Monday, May 19. Applicants selected to submit a Round II Full Grant Application will be notified May 23, ahead of the 4 p.m. June 16 deadline for Round II Full Appllications.
